Traffic Signals

There are 58 signalized intersections within City boundaries. The electrical division ensures that all intersections are operational. The timing of main thoroughfares is coordinated by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. Florence Ave., Santa Fe Ave. and Slauson Ave are monitored by the County and all other intersections are monitored and maintained by the City.

Street Lights

Staff maintains and operates over 3,000 street lights. City owned and operated street lights are identified by concrete or metal pole. When reporting an outage, please call the Public Works Department at 323-584-6274 and give the address or nearest cross street.

There are about 200 lights (most of these mounted on wooden poles) that are operated and maintained by Southern California Edison (SCE). To report a malfunctioning street light to an Edison pole you may click on the link to Southern California Edison or call 1-800-611-1911.
